How I got into Electronika:
It was in 1997 or so that I first started listening to music other than Korn, Marilyn Manson, and Nine Inch Nails, which all satisfied my need for driving, pulsating beats-these bands introduced to me Industrial music, which, in turn, pushed me toward electronic music.
I started listening to dance music via MTV's Amp. There, I discovered Orbital, Wink, Chemical Brothers, Roni Size, Daft Punk, etc. I loved the abstractness of "computery" music and the driving force behind it.
I also found Plastikman and fell in love.
Then, living in Salem in '98 or '99 (its kind of a glittery blur), I went to my first rave. It was a Hyve party and there I met a ton of cool people and heard music and felt vibes that I couldnt even comprehend. Ever since then, I have been committed to dance music and the dance community...I cant imagine not being a part of it all.

Re: Mine Story
Tue, December 14, 2004 - 11:45 PMWell I would have to say that I had just started buying records and mixing them in the privacy of my own home with my boyfriend at the time. One nite I was out at the Rialto and Micheal Isreal approached me with a proposition... anyway, not the sort you might think, and we became friends and then my boyfriend at the time introduced me to Jon and we all started to play music and party!
